Rail
The Sri Lanka Government Railway serves all important tourist destinations in the Island. Towns served from Colombo include Kandy, Nanu Oya ( Nuwara Eliya), Bandarawela, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura, Polonnruwa, Negombo, Brntota, and Batticaloa.

Bus
The Sri Lanka Central Transport Board maintains an island-wide network of bus services. Express bus services are available to all principal towns. Taxi
A large number of three-wheelers operate on the roads. It is advisable to agree to a rate before commencing your journey. Make sure the driver has a clear idea of your destination.

Tourist Information Counter of the Ceylon Tourist Board at the Airport is open 24 hours. Airport Restaurant-24 hours service. A train service is available from the Airport to the city. A regular bus service is also available to Colombo and Negombo.
